Hi everyone,
An IT initiative we have going on is that Windows 10 is losing its support from Microsoft in October 2025. While this doesn't immediately affect the operations of Windows 10, it means that patches and updates for performance and security will cease from Microsoft officially and permanently. The challenge is that some systems cannot simply upgrade to Windows 11in place due to certain hardware requirements. There is a cost associated with installing a new system. There are other considerations too. With us, its with gate software. We have legacy systems in place that are unsupported by their vendors and if we swap out the systems we HAVE to migrate to a new gate hardware and software platform (more cost/tenant issues etc)... Also, with Windows 11, StorLogix from PTI will not run on Win11. We've tried to skirt around it but that software is no longer supported as well and we're looking at having to migrate a large chunk of our systems to the cloud for gate operations.
My question for you all is, have you started looking into this and if so, who's driving this project for your properties? I'd like to talk to them specifically and share successes and setbacks to help all of us out well in advance of Microsoft's deadline. I want to help us succeed and I offer my help to anyone who needs it.
