    This may have already been asked here before and if so I apologize. We have had some of our RV/Boat tenants ask for extended access hours as they travel and sometimes get back before or after our normal 6:00am-9:00pm access hours. Is this common in RV/Boat storage? How does everyone else handle situations like this or are longer hours the norm for these facilities? Thanks!

    We have many facilities with boat/RV. Extended access hours is a common request. Generally we charge a premium for it, around $10 to $15/month. This reduces the tenants who request it, which is one way to preserve your security in that only the tenants who pay for extended hours are on the property outside of your normal gate hours.

    We do the same thing as Mike Gately. Charge a premium for 24 hour access.

    Our hours are 6am - 10pm with no exceptions.  Overall, we've found that our RV customers actually like the idea (security) that no one (aside from owner/manager) is able to be on the property after hours.

    Hi Terri,

    We restrict our boat/rv yard access hours to 5am-11pm , 365 days a year.  It hasn't been a problem.  I tell them it's for everyone's safety and best interest.

    Most customers will come the day before they want to use their "toy" anyway to do prep work at home.
