We also offer both locks to our tenants. I have noticed that sometimes the word locks get hard to turn if on outdoor units. We also raised our admin fee to include a free disc lock (they ay extra if they want to upgrade for the word lock). This helps us encourage our insurance program which will waive the deductible for any claims if they have a disc or cylinder lock on the unit instead of just a regular padlock.

Hi Stephen,
We offer both locks and give them the choice. I typically recommend the combo lock for those customers who have more than one person using the space. Businesses, non-profits, even different family members have a hard time keeping up with keys.

I'm a new owner, and after an extensive rehab I am planning to go live with my vacant mini-storage facility shortly. I'm planning to provide a free disc lock to my tenants. Can experienced owners please provide feedback on whether you recommend using a disc combination lock vs. a disc keyed lock (see pics below)?
