  • 1.  Do you let tenants drop PODs at your facility during move in or move out?

    Do you allow tenants to bring PODs into your facility for move in and move out? If so, what rules do you have in place to prevent any issues?

    I do on a case by case basis. I have to know about it in advance and I decide where it can be dropped. They have to be dropped and picked up during our business hours so that my maintenance crew can keep any eye on them. It's only happened a handful of times on move ins and hasn't presented any issues.

    My policy is the same as JoLea and yes it has happened a time or two but no issues.

    Hello folks,

    Funny you should ask; we just had this potential problem come up.  

    I would not allow any third party vendor on the yard.  It will be difficult to handle a problem if something occurs like they damage our facility or another customer's property.  Also, wherever that POD (or in our recent case, a big dumpster) is placed, it will most likely block the driveways.    We would insist the customer bring their U-Haul type truck onsite and load themselves or with helpers, but no un-attended vehicles/trailers in the driveway.
