Yes, we have recently reinstated CC fees.
For the safety of our employees we stopped cash years ago and keep no cash on the premises. We do take money orders and personal checks so our customers can avoid the CC fees - but the fees are out of our control.
We have absorbed the costs for the past 4 years (10s of thousands of dollars), changing processing companies multiple times to try to reduce costs but they all keep raising their fees.
Because of our market, we can't be competitive AND include this in our prices. In the last 4 years we have gone from 2.3% processing fees to 3.5%!
Instead of trying to regulate rents, TX should regulate these fees, insurance rates imposed on businesses, utilities costs, and of course taxes. Lol - that'll be the day.

We consider it cost of doing business and our rates reflect the extra cost. But I have heard of others that give cash discounts...this means you can just set up a cash discount in ESS and apply it to cash customers while they are paying in front of you rather than trying to manually charge extra every time someone pays with a card. Just an idea.

I would like to know if any of you are charging credit card fees to your customers that use them? ESS doesn't have a way to automatically charge card users. I have asked for this enhancement, but they say since some states do not allow this, they are unwilling to make the change.
Does anyone have a solution for this other than manually entering card charges which is not feasible.
