Contacting the local comptrollers office would be your best bet. The gold book you got with your subscription will explain the rules as far what to and what not to charge sales tax on. A trailer with a boat on it does not get charged sales tax. An empty boat trailer does get charged sales tx.
Our facility is located in Edinburg TX. Our sales tax rate down here is 6.25% for the state and 2% for the city. We are located out side of the city limits and therefor do not charge or pay the 2% for the city.
