  • 1.  Hallway Security for after hours access

We normally lock each hallway by hand at closing.  We want to offer extended gate hours and still lock all hallways per building after office closes.  Installed  PTI for gate code access.  Thinking of PTI  "DoorBoss" to handle this aspect.  Any insight of a better idea?  We are trying not to retrofit rollup doors into swinging doors if possible due to high cost ...6 needed!
    Thanks for your input,

Hi Larry - Since you already have PTI, you can look into adding an electronic (magnetic lock or door strike) lock on each hallway door and tie that into PTI access control so that it automatically locks each hallway door during set hours (e.g. locks at 8pm while still allowing egress and opens at 6am for free ingress).  I would ask the access control company you used to install PTI at the gate if this solution would work with a timer to control the power to these hallway doors and electronic strikes.

You could also add a keypad at the exterior or each hallway door allow select customer to gain access with code 24 hours, probably like you do with your gate.

I have seen the DoorBoss, and it looks interesting, but not sure it can be retrofitted to a standard 3'X" hollow metal hallway door.

    Good luck!
